It’s no secret that Xiaomi is working on MIUI 13, which should be based on the Android 12 operating system. Initially, it was assumed that the firmware will debut in the summer; simultaneously with the release of Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. But the wave of negativity that hit MIUI 12 and MIUI 12.5 made the company take their time with the release of MIUI 13 in order to reduce the number of errors and bugs to a minimum.

Earlier, the head of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, said that the thirteenth iteration of the proprietary shell will be presented before the end of 2021, and the company is completing the final preparations for its debut. At the moment, MIUI 13 is undergoing closed testing on such smartphones: Xiaomi Mix 4, Xiaomi Mi 11 / Mi 11 Ultra / Mi 11 Lite 4G, Xiaomi Mi 10S and Redmi K40 / K40Pro / K40 Pro +. At the moment, we are talking about Chinese versions of devices; and the first MIUI 13 in its stable version should arrive to the Xiaomi Mix 4.

According to network insider Abishek Yadava, the first wave of updates, in addition to the above models, will include the flagships of the Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi 10T and Redmi K30 series. Xiaomi Mix Fold, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 9, Redmi 10 / 10X, Poco M2 / M2 Pro, Poco M3, Poco M4, Poco X2 / X3 / can count among the first to receive MIUI 13 X3 Pro, Poco F2 / F2 Pro, Poco F3 Pro / F3 GT and Poco C3.

Xiaomi founder promises that MIUI 13 will launch before the end of 2021

Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has shed some light on the timing of the launch of a fresh user interface for the company’s smartphones. According to him, MIUI 13; which will bring a lot of changes to the experience of interacting with Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones; will be launched before the end of this year.

According to reports, MIUI 13 will provide a performance boost as well as offer users a noticeably redesigned user interface. The new version of the shell will be based on the recently officially released Android 12; however, some Xiaomi smartphones will receive MIUI 13 based on Android 11. According to leaks, MIUI 13 will receive redesigned fonts and animations. In addition, application icons will change in the fresh shell and new wallpapers will be added. As for other features, according to reports, MIUI 13 will be able to boast of swap file support; with flexible settings.

Recall that rumors about the imminent launch of MIUI 13 circulated throughout 2021. However, this time we are talking about official information coming from the head of Xiaomi. There is a possibility that the new shell will debut on the upcoming flagship Xiaomi 12; which may be available at the very end of the year.
